Thousands convene in Cape Verde for World Music Festival

50,000 people enjoy three days of memorable musical performances, sponsored by Cape Verde Development.

This year's Baia Das Gatas Festival finished tonight, with the 50,000-strong audience being entertained into the night by memorable performances from Constantino Cardoso, Cesaria Evora and Young Livity.

This festival, now in its twenty-second year, has grown steadily in its popularity over the years. Baia Das Gatas now welcomes some of the most talented musicians from the around the world, with artists from as far as Brazil and French Caribbean traveling to perform at the three-day event.

Cape Verde Development was proud to be one of the major sponsors for this festival, which took place on the smaller islands of the archipelago, São Vicente. Tom Sheehy, of Cape Verde Development, speaking at the festival said, "We were delighted to be involved in this event, which really brought to the fore the rich culture of these islands.
